Perdido Key
Circa 1933, Perdido Key had geographically become an island. The island of Perdido Key is now about 16 miles long with almost 60% of it protected in federal or state parks. On July 26, 1950, Army Private Rosamond Johnson, Jr was the first resident from Escambia County to die in the Korean War.

Perdido Key, also know as Lost Key, was named by the Spanish cartographer Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora in 1693. He named it this because he had a difficult time finding deep water access to Perdido Bay.

Perdido Key has clear, azure water that beckons one to swim, play or just sit on the sand and admire the majesty that is the Gulf of Mexico. If you think our water is amazing from the shore, you should see it from a boater's perspective
